Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 September 2026
These terms explain how Sekrenton works for schools: plans and payments, online school fees, SMS credits, and how we look after your data. We have written them in plain language.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between Sekrenton Systems ("we", "us") and the school that signs up for Sekrenton ("the school", "you"). By creating an account or using Sekrenton, you agree to them on behalf of your school. If you do not have authority to do that, please do not sign up.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date
- Keep passwords private. You are responsible for what happens under your school's accounts
- Only give staff, parents and students the access they need, and remove access when someone leaves
- Tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused
3. The school's responsibilities for data
The school owns and controls the information it puts into Sekrenton. The school is responsible for having a lawful basis to record it and, where needed, the consent of parents or guardians for information about children, as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle this information on the school's behalf.
4. Free trial and plans
Every new school gets a free 30-day trial of the Growth plan. No card is needed. At the end of the trial, the school chooses a plan to keep using Sekrenton.
Plans are priced per month, with a limit on students and staff for each plan, as shown on our Pricing page. A school can pay for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time, with the discounts shown when paying. Prices can change, but a change never affects a period the school has already paid for.
A school can move to a bigger plan at any time. Unused days on the current plan are credited against the new one. A school can only move to a smaller plan if its students and staff fit within that plan's limits.
5. Paying for Sekrenton
Subscriptions are paid in naira online through Paystack. We send reminders before a paid period ends. If payment is not made, there is a grace period (7 days unless shown otherwise). After that, the school's account becomes view-only: staff can still sign in and see everything, but cannot make changes until payment is made. Parents and students can still see their information and pay school fees. Full access returns as soon as payment is made.
Subscription payments are not refunded for part of a paid period. A school can stop renewing at any time, and keeps full access until the end of the period it has paid for.
6. Online school fee payments
Schools can let parents pay school fees online. Payments are processed by Paystack and settled by Paystack directly into the school's own bank account, usually by the next working day. Sekrenton never holds school fee money.
- Parents pay Paystack's charges on top of the fee amount
- A Sekrenton processing fee of 1.5% of each payment, capped at ₦2,000 per payment, is deducted before the money reaches the school, unless a different fee has been agreed in writing
- Paystack's own terms also apply to payments made through it
The school is responsible for the bank account details it gives us, for its fee amounts, and for handling any refund or dispute with a parent. If a payment is reversed or charged back after it has been settled, the school must repay that amount, and we may recover it from future settlements.
7. SMS and WhatsApp credits
Messages are paid for with credits bought in advance. One credit covers one SMS page to one phone number. WhatsApp messages use more credits, as shown in Sekrenton. Credits do not expire and are not refundable. Credits for messages that fail to send are returned automatically.
Messages must only go to parents, guardians and staff connected with the school, about school matters. The school must not use Sekrenton to send spam, advertising for other businesses, or anything unlawful, and is responsible for the content of the messages it sends. We may suspend messaging if it is misused.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Sekrenton for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent
- Try to access another school's data or accounts
- Try to break, overload or get around the security of Sekrenton
- Upload viruses or harmful files
- Resell or copy Sekrenton without our written permission
9. Your data belongs to you
The school keeps ownership of all its data. You can export students, staff and parents at any time. If a school closes its account, we keep its data for 90 days so it can change its mind or download it, and then delete it, except where the law requires us to keep some records longer.
10. Availability and support
We work hard to keep Sekrenton available and to back up data every night. There may occasionally be interruptions for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, such as problems with internet providers, payment providers or mobile networks. We aim to give notice of planned maintenance.
Support is available by email at support@sekrenton.com and on WhatsApp, with faster support on higher plans.
11. Changes to Sekrenton and these terms
We regularly improve Sekrenton and may add, change or remove features. If we make an important change to these terms, we will tell schools at least 30 days before it takes effect. If a school does not agree, it can stop using Sekrenton before the change applies.
12. Limit of our responsibility
Sekrenton is provided with care, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost opportunities, and our total responsibility to a school for any claim is limited to the amount the school paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law.
13. Ending the agreement
A school can stop using Sekrenton at any time. We may suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously broken, if payment is not made after the grace period, or if the law requires it. Where possible, we will give notice and a chance to put things right first.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a disagreement arises, we will first try to resolve it together in good faith. If that does not work, the courts of Lagos State will have jurisdiction.
